About the author

About the Author:

Elizabeth Harrin, MA, MBCS, is an author and project manager living and working in London, U.K. She has a decade of project management experience and has led a variety of IT and process improvement projects, including e-commerce and communications developments. She is also experienced in managing business change. She spent 8 years working in financial services, including 2 years in Paris, France, before moving into healthcare technology.

Elizabeth is a founder member of PMI's New Media Council and writes the award-winning blog A Girl's Guide to Project Management (www.pm4girls.co.uk). She is also a member of PMI and the British Computer Society. She is a staff writer for The Glass Hammer, an online magazine aimed at senior women in business, and a columnist for the project management website PMTips.net (www.pmtips.net).

Elizabeth's first book, Project Management in the Real World, was published in 2006 and is a case-study based book, which tells you what you really need to know to succeed in project managing. It includes examples of project management practices from the U.S., Australia, Spain, and The Netherlands.
