About the Author:
S. Murugan is an expert in the field of sexual medicine with a clinical experience of 45 years. He completed his MBBS, MD, and PG diploma in Venereology from Madurai Medical College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He has served in government and private teaching institutions in various capacities ranging from assistant professor to the head of the department. He has published more than 80 scientific papers in renowned Indian and international journals. Dr. Murugan had been honoured with orations of the Silver Jubilee of the Institute of Venereology,
Dr. R.V. Rajam endowment lecture awarded by the Indian Association for the Study of Sexually Transmitted Diseases & AIDS and on the names of Professor Dr. Thambiah and Dr. T. V. Venkatesan. He served as the national president of the Indian Association for the Study of Sexually Transmitted Diseases & AIDS (IASSTD & AIDS) for 3 years continuously and now working as a senior consultant in Sexual Medicine and HIV Medicine, Shifa Hospitals, TiruneIveIi, Tamil Nadu. He also held posts of consultant for many voluntary organizations working on HIV/AIDS.
